I finally made the move to Thailand, but things haven’t gone exactly as I expected.
After dreaming about this move for months, I’ve been hit with some unexpected realities. Bangkok is more expensive than I imagined, everyday services like hair, nails, and dining out can cost much more than social media makes it seem, and adjusting to a new country hasn’t been easy.
Beyond the financial surprises, I’m also dealing with loneliness, culture shock, and the challenges of navigating a language barrier while trying to build a new life from scratch.
In this video, I’m sharing my honest first impressions after arriving in Thailand—the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you’re thinking about moving to Thailand, becoming a digital nomad, or starting over in a new country, this is a side of the experience that isn’t talked about enough.
Have you ever moved somewhere and felt completely overwhelmed at first? Let me know in the comments.
