Many people asked if they should travel to Thailand after Queen Sirikit passed away on the 24th of October 2025.
I visited the Bangkok vegetarian Festival which will take place till the 29th of October. Festivities will continue, but just with limited music.
There is an official period of mourning for government officials of 1 year. Entertainment venues will be open as usual, but are expected to limit noise for at least 15 days. Flags will be half mast for 30 days. It is apreciated to wear black or white clothing during the period of mourning.
